Habitat:Moist to wet open places; moist meadows and fields, gravelly seeps and roadside ditches, margins of ponds, marshes, fens and streams. This sedge adapts to full sun, wet to moist conditions, and various kinds of soil, including those containing mud, sand, or gravel.
